ORGANIC BEESWAX CANDLES

The UK’s first & only certified organic beeswax candles

All of our candles incorporate organic beeswax. We partner with Europe’s finest certified organic apiaries and our organic beeswax candles are certified organic by the Soil Association.

Our partner organic apiaries must meet very strict standards annually. For example,  a 6km diameter around the hive is required to be free from pesticides, main roads and waste sites. Harmful practices like the destruction of bees in the combs & mutilation of queen bees are strictly prohibited. They must be independently certified organic by one of their own countries approved organic certification bodies and satisfy annual inspections.

The Benefits of Beeswax Candles

100% Natural

Beeswax candles have many benefits over alternative waxes such as paraffin, soy wax and rapeseed wax.

Firstly, Beeswax is a truly natural product. Beeswax is produced by young worker honeybees. These bees consume honey and convert it into wax through a complex process within their bodies. They have special glands on the underside of their abdomen that secrete the wax as clear droplets. These droplets harden into flakes when exposed to air.

Rapeseed and soy waxes are derived from vegetable oils through hydrogenation. The transformation from oil to wax via hydrogenation significantly changes the chemical structure of the oil, which does not happen in the natural environment without the application of industrial processes. Paraffin wax comes from petroleum refining.

A Cleaner Burn

Beeswax candles are known for burning cleanly with minimal soot and toxins, ensuring a more natural candle-burning experience. They are free from chemical additives, making them safer for indoor environments.

Longer burn time

Beeswax candles have the highest melting point when compared with paraffin, rapeseed and soy wax candles.

In terms of burn times, when compared with beeswax, Soy wax will be roughly between 10-15% shorter, Rapeseed 8-12% shorter & paraffin up to 30% shorter.

Beauty

The beauty of beeswax candles extends beyond the warmth of the colour and sweet scent. Captured within the candle is the story of incredible harmonious dominion – by both the bees, the beekeepers and the local environment. In choosing beeswax candles, you are promoting the flourishing of bees, our essential pollinators. In supporting certified organic, you are supporting a glorious story of faithful stewardship & mastery.

Why Certified Organic Beeswax Candles?

Certified organic beeswax must adhere to a very high set of standards that govern the hive location, hive materials, husbandry practices and much more.

The aim of organic certification is to help prevent contamination of the hives (from contaminants such as pesticides) and promote the flourishing of the bee colonies. This means that certified organic beeswax promotes the purest beeswax in the world and helps to ensure that the environment is managed in a way that benefits all of the local ecology.

The result is the world’s finest & purest wax.
