WHY CERTIFIED ORGANIC CANDLES ?

Organic certification stands as a hallmark of trust and purity. All products have a story. Every ingredient, every vision, every meeting & every worker contributes to the story behind the product. This story either speaks of faithful dominion or compromise. Here’s why certified organic candles are not just a mark of luxury, but also a symbol of commitment to quality and ecological responsibility. Organic certification is the signal of a better story.

Trust and Confidence: The Value of Organic Certification

Organic certification is not merely a label; it’s a promise of excellence and an assurance of quality. It represents an independent verification of our practices and offers our customers the confidence that when they choose our candles, they are choosing a product that is not only luxurious and beautiful but also responsibly made, with consideration for the health of both the planet and the people.

In the light of a certified organic beeswax candle, one enjoys not just the flicker of a flame, but the joy of knowing that the product was created with the highest standards of ethical and environmental responsibility. This is why we have committed to certifying all of our candles as organic – because we believe that luxury should not come at the cost of our collective well-being. Our candles are thus a beacon of both purity and sustainability, an emblem of our respect for the created order, and a tribute to the discerning consumers who value the authenticity and integrity of the products they bring into their homes.

Certified Organic Beeswax

Hive Location

A 6km diameter around the hive is required to be free from pesticides, main roads and waste sites.

We partner only with remote apiaries across Europe that are independently certified as organic.

By ensuring that apiaries are surrounded by organic crops or natural vegetation, away from pollutants and toxins, the risk of contamination is significantly minimized. This practice is crucial for maintaining the purity of the beeswax and the health of the bee colonies.

Hive Materials

The use of natural & certified organic materials for hives is a testament to the commitment to preventing any risk of contamination, ensuring that the beeswax remains as untainted and natural as possible.

Husbandry

Ethical and natural husbandry practices underscore the respect for bee life. Prohibiting harmful practices like the destruction of bees in the combs, mutilation of queen bees, and ensuring that new foundations are made of beeswax from organic production are all reflective of a holistic and respectful approach to beekeeping.

Our Commitment to Purity: Soil Association Certification

As makers of certified organic beeswax candles, our dedication to maintaining the integrity of our products is unwavering. Partnering with the Soil Association for the processing of organic ingredients, we adhere to rigorous standards that govern our entire chain of custody for ingredients. Annual inspections and meticulous record-keeping ensure that our methods and materials meet the high standards required for certification.

FAQs

“Organic” is superior to “100% Natural”.

Something can be 100% natural and be covered in Pesticides, from Genetically modified crops with catastrophic production processes. 95% of Soy Wax is of genetically modified origin – which is strictly prohibited under organic standards.

Organic is 100% Natural. “100% Natural” is not necessarily Organic.

We are the first & as far as we are aware, the only certified organic candle manufacturer.

Our candles adhere to the strictest standards available.

This means that we have the highest processes in place to prevent contamination at source & during manufacturing.

The home environment is one of the important considerations to make when considering the potential harms. The story that is told during the production & processing of the candle is also a key factor – and the harms that are involved here.

Even if it could not be demonstrated that organic candles have a benefit in the home environment – the catastrophic practices at source that exist with most non-organic candles would provide more than enough reasons not support practices that destroy the soil, rivers, animals & people.
